Store Manager

Store managers are responsible for the customer and team member experience in our store. Together with the LeMans team, store managers build long term relationships with customers and the community through providing honest advice, delivering high quality work and ensuring the workshop’s performance remains consistent.

Duties and responsibilities

At a high level, store managers are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the store. From customer relations to employee management, the store manager is in charge of all of the goings-on at a given workshop.

Managing staff

In this role, store managers are responsible for managing all operational staff. This can involve hiring new mechanics or professionals as well as ensuring that current employees maintain their qualifications and certifications.

Meeting set KPI’s and targets

The role of store manager includes setting and meeting KPI’s that are achievable but challenging at the same time. Once the targets have been set, you will be required to monitor their progress and drive results by keeping staff motivated and performing their best.

Maintaining a sound knowledge of products and services

Product and service knowledge is an essential sales skill. Understanding the value we bring to customers will allow you to present their benefits accurately and persuasively. 

Ensure compliance

Store managers ensure that our operations remain in compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Maintaining a clean and safe working environment for staff and customers

The state of our workshop is tantamount to employee health, safety compliance, customer satisfaction and well as the reputation of LeMans Motors. As store manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining a proper working environment. 

Providing services to our customers from first point of contact

As store manager, you will experience frequent contact with customers. Being a good listener, able to explain problems effectively and remaining polite at all times is essential.

Skills and qualifications

We are looking for a leader that has common sense, initiative and believes in getting the job done right, every time. 

 

  • Customer service skills – we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who can look after the existing customer base, build new long lasting customer relationships, and increase sales and business profitability. 

 

  • Problem solving skills – the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, administrative and time management skills as well as be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. 

 

  • Communication skills  – being able to communicate effectively is vital for the role of a store manager. You will need to liaise with staff, customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders. You will be directing store meetings and will need to confront a variety of internal and customer facing situations, both positive and challenging. Written and verbal communication are both central to this role.

 

  • Prior experience – this is a hands-on management role, so to be considered you will need to be a trade qualified motor mechanic with experience in a similar role within the industry. You will need experience running a workshop, quoting jobs, sourcing parts and leading staff. Vast mechanical/tyre knowledge across a range of vehicle brands and types is ideal.

 

  • Licensed  – all of our mechanics are required to have a valid driver’s license and must know how to successfully drive both automatic and manual transmission types.
